HomeMy WebLinkAboutCORRESPONDENCE - GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE - LEAGUES POLICYLeagues Policy SouthRidge Golf League Play at SouthRidge has been officially recognized and allowed since the City took over the management, operations, and maintenance of SouthRidge in 1991 Leagues have been playing at SouthRidge since it opened in 1984 Currently we actively solicit Leagues at SouthRidge, with League play happening Monday through Thursday, though a Friday League is a possibility All Leagues are 9-hole Leagues (except for an 18-hole Ladies League), and we have multiple Leagues playing on the same days Because of Leagues, we only allow 9-hole play for the general public after 2 00 p in on League days Basically, we are at capacity for Leagues at South%dge Existing Leagues have first priority for the next year, and the Leagues are booked at the end of the — season for the next year All League golfers pay regular green fees or use a punch card, and no annual passes are accepted Golfers pay on the day of their League "No shows" are not currently a problem as the League manager is responsible for finding a replacement If there is a repeated "no show" then we will reduce the number of tee times for that particular League City Park Nine and Collindale Effective January 1, 1998, we will actively solicit League Play at both City Park Nine and Collindale Leagues will be held on Monday through Thursday only, and will be limited to 9-hole play All League golfers wdl,pay regular green fees or use punch cards only Annual Passes will not be accepted for official League play At Collindale we will book 9-hole League play and leave the other 9-holes available for the general public through the regular tee time reservation or walk-on process I At City Park Nme,'we will limit Leagues to 36 golfers maximum starting at 4 30 p in to 6 00 p in An exception can be made for the existing Thursday Men's League allowing them to maintain the same number of golfers and starting at 3 30 p m if they desire We will allow only one evening League per day, or a maximum of 36 golfers Applications for 1998 Leagues will be accepted at the City Park Nine and Collindale Pro Shops on January 1, 1998 A blind drawing will be held if more than one request is made for a specific day/time We will then book Leagues for the next year at the end of the season on October 1, confirming the LeaNe on January 2 New League applications will be accepted starting on October 1 for the next year Existing Leagues will be given first priority Existing unofficial Leagues at Collindale will be given first priority to decide if they want to continue as an official League For all Leagues at all three courses The Golf Professional and the League Manager will jointly determine the playabilrty of the golf course due to weather conditions and will decide if the League plays or not We will make every effort to allow Leagues to play every week, and League players may be asked to play in less than desirable conditions JPBROWN 4/97
