It will be the Contractor's responsibility to schedule the testing. HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S: • PROJECT MEETINGS: o Once a week at the construction trailer located on site, time to be determined. • PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS: o Schedules shall be updated weekly. The Contractor may be required to submit additional schedules depending on the progress of the project. • HAUL ROUTES: o Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be allowed to use residential streets to access the site with trucks hauling materials. HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S: • SITE CLEAN-UP: o The construction work and progresses shall be kept and accomplished in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Construction Milestone Requirements Milestones: — August 19, 2007 • Harmony Road and Ziegler Road need to be opened to at least one lane of traffic in each direction • Corbett Drive needs to be reopened to thru traffic — May 1, 2008 • Medians and Asphalt Pavement need to be in place on Harmony Road — June 29, 2008 • All Roadway Improvements need to be completed TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: o The traffic control for this project will be supplied by the Contractor and will include all costs for the traffic control associated with this project. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: TRAFFIC CONTROL: o Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and approved 72 hours prior to the start of construction and before making each modification. o Local Residential Access: o Local and business access must be maintained at all times for the businesses and residences along Ziegler Road and Harmony Road. o City of Fort Collins staff will coordinate with the businesses and residences so driveways can be closed for removal and re -installation. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: o Significant Coordination with City staff will be required for determining locations of closures and length of closures. o The City anticipates several different configurations of closures in the work -area and will want to minimize closures to only include the work area. o The City will not allow closures that impeded traffic for extended periods of time if no work is occurring in said closures. o In other words, the Contractor will need to be sensitive to the scope of work and the necessary closures to achieve said work. Maximizing the work in closures will be vital for the project's success and public perception. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: TRAFFIC CONTROL: o Anticipated Harmony Road Closures: o Harmony Road will maintain 2-way traffic at all times. o West -Bound Harmony lanes may be closed for 35 calendar days by utilizing a shoe -fly to get WB traffic onto EB lanes from East of Ziegler to West of Corbett. o Full movement access to Avago will be maintained at Technology Parkway. o Right -in, Right out access to Avago will be maintained at Avago's west entrance. o Partial closures and lane drops along Harmony Road will also be utilized. o Thru and turning movements will be maintained at Snow Mesa Drive at all times. o Thru and turning movements will be maintained at Corbett after August 19, 2007 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: o Anticipated Ziegler Road Closures: o Ziegler Road is anticipated to be closed at the intersection of Ziegler/Harmony until August 19,2007. o Ziegler Road access to Avago and local traffic will be maintained from Horsetooth Road. o Partial closures and lane drops along Ziegler Road will also be utilized along Ziegler Road o 2-way Traffic (including all movements at the Ziegler/Harmony Intersection) must be maintained at all times after August 19, 2007 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: WORK AREA SAFETY: o The Contractor Shall provide, at the Contractor's expense, all work area safety control devices, such as barricades and safety fence around all excavations, trenches and drop offs. SITE COORDINATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS o Coordination with Front Range Village On -Site Improvements o Pads at Harmony On -Site Improvements o Interior work on Snow Mesa in front of mobile Home Park o Coordination with Harmony School Shops On -Site Improvements o Walgreen's o Channelized "T" intersection on Harmony Road Note on Landscaping: • Landscape Plans are currently available as Addendum #1 from Mercury LDO. • There is also a revised Bid Tab to reflect these changes Note on Pavement Design: • Specified quantities are based on preliminary pavement design that was performed by Terracon for Bayer Properties • The City is currently doing a final pavement design with CTL Thompson, Inc. — The new pavement design will be lighter on material than Terracon's Preliminary Design — The new pavement design will utilize the same specified Asphalt mixes as the Bid -Tab. — The new Pavement design will be addresses in Addendum #2 with revised quantities. Note on Plan set: • City staff is currently doing the final review and signing Mylars. • There are minor revision to notes that are being addressed by Stantec. These revisions will not affect bid -quantities. • The City will supply the awarded contractor with 5 sets of signed plans for construction. Where: 215 North Mason Street (2nd Floor) IMPORTANT CONTRACT DATES: • AWARD CONTRACT o Approximately June 13, 2007 • PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING o Mandatory Meeting Prior to Start of Construction o Date to be determined after contract is awarded • CONSTRUCTION START DATE o ASAP — June 27, 2007 o Completion Date Contract • SUBTANTIAL COMPLETION o June 29, 2008 • FINAL COMPLETION o Maximum allotted time = 14 calendar days following substantial completion SUMMARY OF WORK • Harmony and Ziegler - FRV Improvement Project — Harmony Road: Improvements for widening Harmony Road from Union Pacific Railroad Tracks on Harmony and going east past the Harmony and Ziegler Intersection to Technology Parkway. The improvements for this project will widen Harmony Road to 6-lane arterial road standards. The work will include widening the existing asphalt, installing landscaped medians, and installing a Portland Cement Concrete intersection at Harmony and Ziegler. Median inlets and storm sewer pipe will also be installed to drain the road surface. Harmony Road paving will consist of full depth pavement sections and leveling courses on the existing wearing surface. Harmony Road will not have an asphalt overlay with this contract. — Ziegler Road: Improvements for widening Ziegler Road from Harmony Road to Horsetooth. The improvements for this project will widen Ziegler Road to a 4-lane arterial standard. The work will consist of removal of curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, pipe of various sizes, and installing new vertical curb and gutter, inlets, sidewalk, and landscaped medians. Ziegler Road paving will consist of full -depth paving in the widened areas and a minor asphalt overlay. Substantial completion shall be defined as the completion of all earthwork, asphalt placement, concrete items, utility installations, landscaping and any other pertinent items as required for this project. If the Contractor goes past the June 29, 2008 completion date, damages in the amount of Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Three Dollars ($2,363.00) for each calendar day will be assessed. o FINAL ACCEPTANCE: Final acceptance must be met within 14 Calendar days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be charged if this schedule has not been met
