Street Oversizing Program HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S: • WARRANTY: o The Contractor will be required to warranty their work for 2 years after date of final acceptance. • CONSTRUCTION HOURS: o The operation of all machinery and vehicles must take place between the hours of ■ 7:00 A.M. thru 6:00 P.M. ■ The Contractor may request extended hours ■ The requests must be approved by the City of Fort Collins 3 days prior to any work. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to schedule the testing. HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S.2 • PROJECT MEETINGS: o Once a week at the construction trailer Located on site, time to be determined. • PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS: o Schedules shall be updated weekly. The Contractor may be required t submit additional schedules depending on the progress of the project. • HAUL ROUTES: o Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be allowed to use residential streets to access the site with trucks hauling materials. SITE COORDINATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS North Poudre Irrigation: o Contractor will need to coordinate with Ditch owner to make sure that ditch is open and running by April 15. Boxelder Ditch: o Contractor will need to coordinate with Ditch owner to make sure that ditch is open and running by April 15. • City of Fort Collins Treatment Plant: o Contractor will need to coordinate with the City when working on the FICRD Ditch so not to interrupt there discharge from the Plant. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: o The traffic control for this project will be paid for by the C and will include all costs for the traffic control associated with this project. o Detailed Traffic Control Plans are available for o Full Closure of Ziegler o Traffic flow for Lafarge o Siphon Installation o FICRD Relocation o Sewer Installation at Horsetooth TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: o Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and approved 72 hours prior to the start of construction and before making each modification. o Full road closure will be allowed for Zeigler from Horsetooth Road. ATTENDANCE • Please be sure to register • BID OPENING When: February 28, 2007 3:00 PAN Where: 215 North Mason Street (2nd Floor) IMPORTANT MILESTONES • AWARD CONTRACT o Approximately March 7, 2007 • PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING o Mandatory Meeting Prior to Start of Construction o Date to be determined after contract is awarded • CONSTRUCTION START DATE o March 14, 2007 o Contract allows 75 Working Days • SUBTANTIAL COMPLETION o June 29, 2007 • FINAL COMPLETION o Maximum allotted time =10 working days following completion SUMMARY OF WORK • Drake/Ziegler Improvement Project Phase II o The improvements for Drake Ziegler Phase II are from the end of the existing improvements to Phase I at Environmental Drive and continuing south in the new alignment which is west of the Fossil Creek Inlet Ditch, over the Foothills channel and tying into the intersection of Horsetooth Road. Several items included in the pro :ect are, a box culvert over the FICRD Ditch realignment of the FICRD Ditch, Outfall Channel work which includes a dual 48" siphon pipe under the Boxelder Ditch, FICRD Ditch and County Road #9, an Outfall Channel from the end of the Siphon Pipe going East along the Railroad Right -of -Way to the Poudre River. Also included in this project is hauling the excess material from the Rigden Outfall Channel over to the Zieger Right -of -Way and placing it to subgrade in preparation of Phase III. Substantial completion shall be defined as the completion of all earthwork, Siphon and Outfall Channel, Box Culvert and any other pertinent items as required for this project. If the Contractor goes past the 75 working days, damages in the amount of One Thousand Seven Hundred seventy eight Dollars ($1,778.00) for each calendar day will be assessed. o FINAL ACCEPTANCE: Final acceptance must be met within 10 days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages in the amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) per calendar day will be charged if this schedule has not been met.
