Contractor will not be allowed to use
residential streets to access the site with
trucks hauling materials.

Treatment Plant:
o Contractor will need to coordinate with
the City when working on the FICRD
Ditch so not to interrupt there
discharge from the Plant.

o The traffic control for this project
will be paid for by the C and will
include all costs for the traffic
control associated with this project.

TRAFFIC CONTROL AND

• TRAFFIC CONTROL:
o Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and
approved 72 hours prior to the start of
construction and before making each
modification.
o Full road closure will be allowed for Zeigler
from Horsetooth Road. Environmental Drive will
be open to City of Fort Collins Treatment Plant,
Colorado State University Environmental
Learning Center and Lafarge Northern.
o Local Residential Access:
o Local and business access must be maintained at
all times for the business along Environmental
Drive

SUMMARY OF WORK
• Drake/Ziegler Improvement Project
Phase II
o The improvements for Drake Ziegler Phase II are
from the end of the existing improvements to
Phase I at Environmental Drive and continuing
south in the new alignment which is west of the
Fossil Creek Inlet Ditch, over the Foothills
channel and tying into the intersection of
Horsetooth Road. Several items included in the
pro :ect are, a box culvert over the FICRD Ditch
realignment of the FICRD Ditch, Outfall Channel
work which includes a dual 48" siphon pipe
under the Boxelder Ditch, FICRD Ditch and
County Road #9, an Outfall Channel from the
end of the Siphon Pipe going East along the
Railroad Right -of -Way to the Poudre River. Also
included in this project is hauling the excess
material from the Rigden Outfall Channel over
to the Zieger Right -of -Way and placing it to
subgrade in preparation of Phase III.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL
CONDITIONS AND GENERAL
REQ'S:
• SUPERINTENDENTS:
o The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time
Superintendent whose sole responsibility is to
monitor and coordinate all facets of the work
LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
o SUBSTANIAL COMPLETION:
o The contractor will be given 75 working days to
substantially complete the project. Substantial
completion shall be defined as the completion of
all earthwork, Siphon and Outfall Channel, Box
Culvert and any other pertinent items as required
for this project. If the Contractor goes past the 75
working days, damages in the amount of One
Thousand Seven Hundred seventy eight Dollars
($1,778.00) for each calendar day will be
assessed.
o FINAL ACCEPTANCE:
Final acceptance must be met within 10 days after
substantial completion. Liquidated damages in
the amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) per
calendar day will be charged if this schedule has
not been met.
