For context, in many EMS procurements the initial base term is three to five years up front to account for the capital expenditures required if a new provider begins operations. Our current reading is that the agreement begins with a one-year base term and includes options for four (4) additional one-year renewals (up to five years total if all are exercised), with the possibility of a subsequent single five-year extension, contingent on satisfactory performance and PFA Board approval (see Section 1.2, Contract Term). Could you please confirm whether this interpretation is correct, or clarify if a different base-term structure is intended? The PFA’s preference is for a one-year term that can be renewed for up to four (4) additional one year terms (5 years total). However, the PFA will consider other initial term lengths. If a firm wishes to propose an alternative initial term length, the PFA asks that firm detail the rationale for a change in the length of the term in its proposal. Please note that no proposed alternative term length may exceed five years without the PFA Board’s approval.
