Description of RFI 10210: Digital Signage for Transfort

To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above, the
following changes/additions are hereby made and detailed in the following sections of this
addendum:

1) What’s the make & model of the current signage?
Answer: These are currently
Overhead signs – Daktronics:
• AF-6300-16x96-12-A-DF
• AF-6300-32x144-8-A-SF
Other – Daktronics:

2) What’s the quantity of each different type of sign?
Answer:
• Currently on the Max Guideway and transit centers, we have 25 overhead
signs and 23 schedule displays.
• We anticipate needing 22 overhead signs and 22 schedule displays for the
Elizabeth Corridor BRT stations.
3) Do you have photos of each different type of sign?
Answer: Since models of the various signs have been provided, vendors are encouraged
to review the respective manufacturer websites for additional specifications and detailed
product information.
4) What’s the dimensions of each different type of sign?

5) What’s the Resolution/Brightness of each different type of sign?
Answer: Since models of the various signs have been provided, vendors are encouraged
to review the respective manufacturer websites for additional specifications and detailed
product information.
6) Support Coverage: What level of support is expected—12/7 or full 24/7?
Answer: 24/7
7) Deployment Locations: How many Transport locations are we looking to deploy the
solution at?
Answer: Between 43 and 50.
8) Refresh Drivers: What are the key reasons for the refresh? Are there specific issues or
improvements the customer is targeting?
Answer:
• Existing equipment has reached end of life and requires replacement.
• Modernization of current technologies is a key objective.
• We are open to proposals that include additional features or enhancements.
9) Existing Display Inventory: Is there a current fleet of displays in use? If so, could you
share the make and model details?
Answer: These are currently

10) CMS Platform: Is there an existing content management system (CMS) currently in use?
Answer: Scenario by Solari-Udine.
11) Outdoor Display Needs: Will outdoor displays require enclosures? If so, what sizes are
needed?
Answer: Schedule displays are currently housed in enclosures along the Max Guideway.
As new technologies are being considered, enclosure dimensions will be determined
based on the specifications of the selected solutions.
12) Data Source: What is the source of the data being displayed? Could we request a sample
data export?
Answer: Our data comes from the BusTime API. Unfortunately, we will not be providing
sample data at this time.
13) Integration Requirements: What type of integration is preferred—live/direct integration
or periodic CSV uploads?
Answer: Live/direct integration desired.
14) Template Needs: How many templates and variations will be required for the signage
content?
Answer: We currently have two templates, though this may change based on the chosen
technology
15) Sample Data Export: Can we request a sample export of the data to better understand
formatting and structure?
Answer: Unfortunately, we will not be providing sample data at this time.

16) Data Feed Frequency: How frequently is the data feed updated?
Answer: 30 – 60 seconds.
17) What is the display volume needed for this project?
Answer: The current display systems do not include audio functionality. However, we are
open to solutions that incorporate audio, provided they are compliant with applicable ADA
guidelines.
18) What kind of hardware is in place in terms of the displays?
Answer: These are currently

19) Is content player hardware needed? If not, which current content player hardware is being
used today?
Answer: Vendors are encouraged to recommend their own technologies.
20) Are content player recommendations needed?
Answer: Yes. If a content player is required, then it must adhere to standards approved
by our internal Technology Review Board.
21) Who will manage the CMS for the City of Fort Collins (i.e.. IT, Internal Comms, etc.)?
Answer: City of Fort Collins.

22) What is the size of the team that will manage the digital signage environment?
Answer: Team size will vary between 1 and 10.
23) For implementation, will CMS templates be needed or are there plans to build from
scratch?
Answer: Templates will need to be rebuilt to ensure displays meet ADA guidelines.
24) Are there any specific integrations (SharePoint, Power BI, etc.) that are required for digital
signage?
Answer: There are no requirements at this time.
25) We are considering responding to this RFI but are wondering about Clever Devices
BusTime API. We typically use Roadify for real time transit information, would the City be
open to using that to display the real time transit information instead of integrating with
Clever Devices BusTime as long as it showed all of the same relevant information
required?
Answer: Alternative solutions will be considered, provided they are fully compatible and
able to integrate with our CAD system.
