Description of BID 10194: Transfort Modem Replacements

To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above, the
following changes/additions are hereby made and detailed in the following sections of this
addendum:

2) A question about the antennas. The R980 optimally has (4) cell, (2) wifi and then optional
(1) GPS. It appears you have this listed as spec’d with (60) cellular paddles. Can you
clarify whether you want 240 cellular paddles? Did you intend to use wifi antennas? Do
you want to see pricing on an all in one/7in 1 antenna or is a roof mount not an option?
Answer: We prefer the roof antenna. Please include a compatible external roof-mounted
5G antenna (7:1):
• 4x 5G/4G MIMO
• 2x WiFi 2.4GhZ/5Ghz
• 1x GPS
3) We will be bidding on the City of Fort Collins project and have a few questions regarding
the antennas.
a. What is the type of service vehicle?

b. Is Wifi and GPS needed? GPS is required, wifi capable.
c. What type of mount is required for the antenna? Rooftop mount.
4) The language in the Bid suggests that you consider comparable alternatives to the

R980. Is something that you are comfortable with?
Answer: Yes, as long as it has the same hardware specs, environmental tolerance,
durability and a similar size as the R980.
5) Can we provide SIM cards for the routers?
Answer: We currently get our SIM cards from our carrier and do not have a need at this
time.
6) Item 2 calls out for total 60 paddle antennas. The router antenna setup is a 4x4 MIMO
standard and the 1-Year NCM R980 version does not include kitted antenna. A total of
240 would be needed. Can you provide additional clarity?
Answer: We would prefer rooftop mounts over the paddle antennas. Please include a
compatible external roof mounted 5G antenna (7:1)

7) Item 2 is asking for SMA female connectors, external 600 MHz - 6 GHz cellular paddle
antennas. Do you want the 6 inch paddle antenna’s or an external antenna to mount on
top of the vehicle that fits the connections for the R980? It is also asking for just cellular
antennas. Do you want WiFi and GPS included?
Answer: We would prefer roof-mounted antennas. We would like them to be wifi capable
and GPS is required.

8) Is insurance required since we wouldn’t be doing the install, and if insurance is still
required, how much and who do we make the LOI out to?
Answer: If you are the awarded bidder, an insurance certificate will be required as our
intent is to award a renewable annual agreement for up to the next five years, total. A COI

is not required with your bid submission.
9) You are asking for a 1 year sku for the R980 on item 1 but on page 4 under Method of
Award it states maintenance and support plan costs over 5 years. The R980 can be
purchased with a 5 year sku which would cover the maintenance and support. Would you
also like to see that in the quote?
Answer: Yes, please provide a 5 year quote for maintenance and support with a yearly
option to renew after the first year.
10) Do you have a list of your current model of vehicles?
