Please find enclosed field density test results obtained from street
subgrade and utility trench material being placed at the above -
referenced project.
The field density test results obtained with a nuclear moisture density
gauge in accordance with ASTM procedures are included on pages 2 through
4 along with the maximum density and optimum moisture data developed
for the material being placed. Also enclosed on pages 5 through 8 are
the results of quantitative extractions performed in accordance with
ASTIM D 2172 Method A and gradation analyses of extracted aggregate per-
formed in accordance with ASTM C 117 and C 136 on asphaltic concrete
sampled from the above -referenced project on December 5, 6, 7 and 11,
1990. It should be noted the asphalt content on Sample Nos. 2, 3 and
4 are approximately 1.5% below Western Mobile Northern's mix design
optimum oil content of 4.8%.
