When are samples required to be completed and delivered? Is there a possibility to size a firefighter for this gear? Samples must be submitted as set forth in Section II.A of the RFP document by December 18, 2024. 2. When are samples required to be submitted? See question 1. 3. If samples are due by RFP due date, are exact matches required or simply style to represent manufacture quality and features? If exact matches are required, can the due date be extended so ample time is given to size department personnel and deliver proper products? The exact product proposed must be submitted as a sample. This sample is not going to be wear tested and is only for the evaluation team to examine. Therefore, sizing employees is not necessary at this stage. We will not be extending the due date. 4. If exact matches are required, please provide method for sizing employees expected to participate in wear test evaluation. As noted in the previous question, the sample is for the evaluation team to examine as part of the RFP process. We are not conducting wear testing at this point. 5. The three layer material composites being requested (PBI Max 7oz, Titanium SL2, Stedair 4000) currently has a UL certification of 269.3. The specifications read THL may not be less than 270. Can this requirement be clarified as they contradict each other? We will accept a THL no less than 269. 6. NFPA CCHR testing are PASS/FAIL parameters however the requirements in the RFP lists minimum ratings. UL only provides PASS/FAIL results and not ratings. Will PFA accept UL Certifications that list the NFPA passing requirement? Yes, we will. 7. Does the Coat or Pant require any reflective unique lettering like department name and firefighter name? Yes, firefighter last name only. 8. Regarding coat tail: Will PFA accept a single layer outer shell tail to meet requirement of coat tail in order to install firefighter name? Yes 9. Will PFA accept alternate size expansion pockets for the coat? No 10. Does PFA want fleece lined handwarmer pockets on the coat? No Addendum 1 Page 3 of 3 11. Please provide more details on the bound hole inside radio pocket on the coat. What is the purpose of this? This is a hearing enhancement option. 12. Please provide more details on the “Velcro release” requirement of “7 belt loops – Velcro Release” for the pant. These are intended to be Velcro belt loops.
