Questions and Answers
1. Can an Excel version of Section 00300 Bid Tab be provided?
A: See Attachment 1 to Addendum 2.
2. Is there a specification for the Rip Rap desired (Bid Item #8: Rip Rap: d50 6" - Detail 5
(CIP)) with regard to color/hardness?
A: Material used for riprap shall meet requirements of tables 506-1 and 506-2 of the CDOT
Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction unless otherwise approved by
the Engineer and Owner. Color preference is to match current rip rap materials and subject
to approval by the Engineer/Owner. Riprap sourced from Pete Lien & Sons Quarry would
be acceptable based on proximity/rock type.
3. Where is the closest location for construction water? What are the requirements to use
the water?
A: Water can be obtained from the City of Fort Collins ranch water station at 700 Wood
Street at a cost of $13.76/1,000 gallons. All hauling to the site would be the responsibility
of the selected bidder.
What are the requirements for traffic control? Is it only through the county?
A: Selected bidder will be required to maintain access for Owner and other users providing
temporary entrance/exit with traffic control devices as necessary during construction
operations in accordance with section 01 11 00. Traffic control within County right of way
is not anticipated unless proposed for staging purposes and would be the selected bidder’s
responsibility for permitting/coordination.
4. Does the city/county/state require a permit or license to work on the site?
A: A permit for work on the City of Fort Collins easement is not required. The selected

bidder will need to comply with all applicable State of Colorado stormwater management
requirements.
5. Regarding hydro mulch, is it necessary only on the top road in disturbed areas or also on
the bottom road? Given tough road conditions and limited access, would hand-applied
straw mulch or wood straw suffice?
A: Hand applied/small equipment applied seed with straw mulch would be permitted in
areas that cannot be reached with hydro mulch equipment.
