Addendum # 1
RFP 9996 Playground Designer and Manufacturer for Schoolside Park Page 2 of 2
Exhibit 1 – Questions and Answers
1. Please confirm that the contract can be awarded to the Manufacturer’s Representative
and not solely to the manufacturer.
Response: Confirmed.
2. Please confirm that it is not required to store equipment, and that delivery can be directly
to the jobsite if delivery can be coordinated with the commencement of play equipment
installation. Please also confirm that equipment can be staged on-site during active
installation and will not be required to move off-site each night.
Response: Coordination with the selected GC will be required for equipment delivery
timing and storage. If equipment needs to be delivered before the site is ready to
receive, we may be able to accommodate storage at our Fossil Creek Parks
Maintenance Shop on South Lemay. The park site will be secured during construction.
Once delivered, equipment can be kept on-site during the installation duration.
3. Please confirm that this is not a federally funded project, and that no Davis-
Bacon/Prevailing Wages will be required.
Response: Confirmed.
4. It is not standard practice in the commercial playground industry to provide sealed
engineered drawings for the footings on any playground equipment. All playground
equipment will have footing requirements based on standard installation instructions set
forth by the manufacturer. Please confirm that sealed engineered drawings for the
footings for any commercial playground equipment are not required, and that installation
per manufacturer’s installation instructions is an acceptable alternative.
Response: As a building permit is required to be pulled for the playground, drawings and
documents need to meet these requirements. If details don’t meet standards, then a
stamped engineered detail will be required.
5. There are some limited contradictions pertaining to playground equipment safety
standards and guidelines as they relate to ASTM/CPSC. Please confirm which will take
precedence in case of conflict between the two. ASTM or CPSC?
Response: ASTM is a materials standard while CPSC is a guideline. During the
playground design process, the City and the playground designer will discuss any
differences between ASTM and CPSC. For the purposes of this proposal, please follow
ASTM.
