No, this prebid was not mandatory meaning any firm is eligible to provide a bid regardless of attendance. 2. What is the City’s plan for connecting to existing lines? Connections to existing sanitary sewer lines will vary for each location. Several of the locations will feature new manholes placed at the point of connection. The existing lines on the downstream and upstream lines shall tie into the new manhole with new boots, pipe stub-outs, and couplings to existing lines. Other locations feature cast-in-place manholes that will be placed over the existing line. The new manhole base shall be formed and poured over the existing line and once cured the existing line shall be removed from the manhole base. Several of the proposed lines will tie into existing manholes. These locations match existing inverts, so no core drilling is required. The new pipe shall tie into the existing manhole with a new manhole boot. 3. Are the bid schedule quantities for asphalt fixed or adjustable based on actual quantities? Can you elaborate on how the surface restoration quantities were established? Can you elaborate on how these quantities will be adjusted and measured during construction? All surface restoration quantities are estimated based on the removal limits as shown in the contract drawings. The asphalt and concrete replacement quantities were established based on average pavement depths identified during utility potholing. Removal and replacement limits shall be adhered to unless modified and approved by the Engineer. All quantities are subject to approval by the Engineer.
