What procedure does City of Fort Collins follow to schedule the pickup of various mixes being requested in this bid: o How much advance notice does the supplier typically receive? o Are there days when more than one mix design is needed? o What is the frequency of WMA vs HMA? o What is the average order size? o What is the average number of trucks that would be associated with the average order size? o What hours do your crews work when purchasing asphalt? o What is the purpose of the AC price per ton - to directly purchase asphalt cement from supplier? Response: 1. The City of Fort Collins will usually schedule up to a week in advance, on known projects, but it can also be withing 24 hours if we have emergency patching (waterline breaks, natural disasters, unforeseen failures) o 12-24 hours up to a week o At times we will use 2 Mix designs SX (75) 64-28 Modified Binder, and or S (75) 64-22. o Nominally HMA mixes have been approved and used by the city historically o 50-500 Tons o 4 trucks to 15 depends on haul length and tonnage for the day. o Most days 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. o The intent is to not directly purchase from the supplier. These cost line items are for financial purposes to let the city gauge the cost of raw asphalt relative to the aggregate used to produce HMA.
