Questions and Answers
1. Will City staff execute rectifier adjustments and take related test station readings?
The engineering professional is expected to execute rectifier adjustments and
associated test station readings as part of this RFP scope. Test station readings
that are not directly associated with adjusting the rectifiers will be provided by the
City.
2. Will the companies involved in the CP Master Plan be able to propose on this RFP?
Yes. Engineering professionals that were involved with the previously completed
CP Master Plan will be allowed to propose on this RFP.
3. Do you have interruption capabilities on your sacrificial system, Sacrificial meaning mag
anode facilities?
No. The impressed current CP systems have interruption capabilities that should
be leveraged for rectifier adjustments, but not the passive, galvanic anode
systems.
4. Is there any forecast for volume of new CP systems or replacements that will be needed
annually?
The RFP scope of work includes the top priority CP system replacements and
renewals based on the results of the 2021 CP Master Plan Addendum. Additional
recommendations for future replacements and renewals are also part of this RFP
scope that should be developed with input from the City.
5. What materials are your facilities comprised of?
The City’s water system that is protected by the CP program includes ductile iron
pipe, steel pipe, and prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP).
