RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM MUST BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY A WRITTEN STATEMENT ENCLOSED WITH THE BID DOCUMENTS STATING THAT THIS ADDENDUM HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Addendum 2 Page 2 of 5 EXHIBIT 1 – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 1.Please provide a detail for the sidewalk drain. Response: Please refer to Exhibit A plan sheet 36, Sidewalk Drain Detail in the drawing set for more information. 2.Can caissons or helical piers be used for the bridge? Response: No, please bid the project per plans. 3.It was mentioned at the pre-bid meeting that the City would be repurposing the bridge to be used for this project. Will this repurposing be done at the pickup site the bridge is currently at, or at the install site? Response: Either site will be acceptable, and it will be the selected contractor's preference. 4.Question regarding the existing bridge located at Timberline and Prospect, how will the loading/transport/setting of the bridge be paid for? Currently there is no line item for this, can one be created or is incidental to another bid item? Please clarify. Response: This item is to be included into the mobilization bid item 626-00000. Refer to attached “Revision of Section 626 Mobilization, subsection 626.01” for more information. 5.The Structural Plans show the bridge to have (2) bolt holes at the mounting plates. After visiting the bridge, it was noticed that there is only (1) hole on the mounting plates. Please confirm the number of bolts needed for installation of the bridge. Response: There are multiple structures being stored at this location. For bidding and quantity purposes, please assume 2 bolt holes at each mounting plate with bolts placed at each. See below image. 6.What is the classification of the “Borrow” material in the onsite stockpile? Response: Refer to Exhibit B project specifications page 12, Subsection 203.02 (g) Borrow (Ditch Liner) 7.There seems to be confusion on the Borrow item for the Mail Creek Ditch Liner. The bid quantity is 630 tons. Specifications call for Envirogel200 bentonite, however, the Specs do not specify a rate to blend the bentonite into the existing soils or a depth. This is typically Addendum 2 Page 3 of 5 between the 4%-10% range, blended into the top 3-4”. Bringing in 630 tons of Bentonite for blending is a very expensive proposition. Can you please clarify what is required? Response: In section 203-00200 Borrow (Ditch Liner) in the bid tab the units are CY, not tons. Our calculations show that the quantity in tons for the Envirogel 200 would be approximately 22 tons. Per the manufactures recommendation they specify an application rate between 2%-8% Please visit the manufactures website or see the attached product cut sheet for more information. https://www.wyoben.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Envirogel200.pdf 8.What are the working hours allowed on this project? Response: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Friday unless otherwise approved by the City of Fort Collins Project Manager. If work needs to occur outside of this timeframe coordinate with Project Manager. 9.Our firm hasn’t found an aggregate company that has class 7, please provide suggestion. Response: Please substitute class 6 aggregate in lieu class 7 aggregate. 10. Does the city have a hydrant meter available to use for water, please provide information? Response: Yes, there is a hydrant at Willow Springs Way and Timberline, and it is near the Southbound outside lane. It can be accessed from Willow Springs Way. 11. Who is responsible for surveying? Will the City provide this or is it the responsibility of the Contractor? If Contractor, there is not a line item for surveying, please advise how this will be paid? Response: As stated in the Bid Advertisement in “Section 00050 Scope of Work” and discussed at the on-site Pre-Bid meeting the City of Fort Collins Engineering/Surveying Department will be conducting all the necessary construction surveying for this project and will coordinate with the selected Contractor. 12. Does the last page of the bid form (page 21 of ITB PDF) require a notary at time of bid submittal or time of award? Response: Page 21 of the bid form must be filled out completely but does request or require a notary. A notary is required under section 00420 Statement of Bidders Qualifications and must be completed with your bid. 13. What is the height of the fence(plastic)? Response: This is primarily for delineation of the Contractors work zone. Standard orange work zone construction fencing is adequate with a minimum of 4’ in height. 14. What is the definition of an LB quantity (structural steel)? Response: Please provide a price per pound (LB) of structural steel to be incorporated into the work. The as-designed quantity is shown in the bid tab in pounds. 15. The concrete specifications call for class B concrete with 1.5 lbs of fiber and elsewhere in the specifications it calls out for DF with 4 lbs of fiber, please advise which is required? Addendum 2 Page 4 of 5 Response: Please disregard the Exhibit B project specification section for Class B Concrete with 1.5 LBS of fiber.
