reside at 205 Princeton Road in Fort Collins, Colorado.
I have resided at this address since November-, 19CS9. My
employment is. <<<<i th F'oudre R-1 where I am a secondary school
teacher' . My chi 1 dren are Tim J. Allen who 1 1 graduate cum

and Tamara are in their junior, year- at Fort Col 1 iris High
School .
I am proposing that the property at 2607 Dunbar Avenue, Fart
Coil iris, Colorado be used as a Board and Ca.re Home * _(r 4 or
5 elderly people one of which is my mother.

parent=_•. I a�jas the primary care provider for m:r' parents
from 115177 to 1987. In March of 198 my father died and I
was left vji th tk;.10 a.ddi tional mortgages, medica.i bi i 1s, a.rrd
ether' legal responsibilities with no income and no insurance
for help from any of mx parent's previous resources. In
addition, I got ill and was unable to take care of renting
or selling the house which take time and energy to do.
Because of these things and other financial cutbacks par• t t
due to medical leave I !,,ias forced to figure out what to do
i:�iith the house. I now have the opportunity to assist in the
personal care of a few elderly people as I did for my father
and mother and to have the mortgage paid on time. I enjoy
caring for. the elderly and consider my_e 1 f a caring
professional whether it is in the field of working with
young people in teaching or old people in meeting their
needs of food, shelter, c 1 oth i ng, and .a. 1 i sten i ng ear and a.
motivator. In addition, this will be my mother's residence
and there will be even closer supervision of i),ihat goes on in
the home.
The other, residents t-O 1 1 al so be people such as my mother'
who need companionship of other people but who also would
1 i ke i imi ted supervision and care for their personal needs
such as. those viho e i ther prefer- to have someone else cook:
for them etc. There will be an adult supervisor in the home
24 hours a. day. One supervisor will be in the home for five
days and a. relief person will come in for the remaining two

driving a car. There is a double car garage with a large
driveway and ample parking in front for 2 or c cars. The
residents wi 1 1 not be driving themselves a.nyi,;here and if
family comes to visit or to take them anywhere, there is no
problem concerning parking. There will be no problem with
noise as the residents will probably be in their 70s to 90s
and they i-;a.ve already Had their share of noise. These
people are less active and there i.,.ai 1 1 be no pets. There
should be no adverse problems with my neighbors. i am
applying for a residential license and there will be no
commercial occupation in the home. My application to be
licensed for safety of my residents is on file with the
State Board of Health in Denver. They are awaiting the
local _• i gnoffs prior to their inspection of the home for
their requirements.
The outside of the home will be maintained as wi i i the
inside. The lawn currently is rotot_i11ed with the front lawn
fine grated awaiting •=cad to be i nstal i ed as soon as the
weather is a. consistent 0-80 degrees. I intend to put in a.
sprinkler system in the fall too. A chain 1 i nk fence will
be i nsta.l l ed in the fa.l l . Sn_w has been and wi 1 1 continue
to be shoveled off the drive and sidewalks in the winter,
and the lawn wi 1 l be mowed in the spring and summer.
Obtaining this license for board and care at 2607 Dunbar is
the method in which I can help take care of my mother. If I
cant get thi=_ residential license, there is .a. Yery distinct
possibil i ty of another Fort Collins bankruptcy or for•closure
because my family does not have finances to care for her.

If these areas are added: 1) The proposed porch would be so that the residents
could enjoy an enclosed area to sit and look around outside and be protected
from the elements and environmental pests such as flies; and, 2) the proposed
patio in back would be for the purpose of sitting, resting, reading, eating, or
if used as a bedroom, would be for a day napping or resting type room.
