RE: Water Sizing Justification Letter
Project: Foothills Unitarian expansion
Dear Matt,
This letter is to provide justification of the existing 1-1/2” water service & meter.
Our calculation for maximum flow shows 55 GPM per the calculation provided in
2018 IPC Appendix E.
We calculated yearly totals by using the LEED indoor water use reduction
calculator. Calculating a gallon per day valve based on services & events that
are held thought the week. Services on Sunday with a total of 400 attendees
and daily events hosting 90 attendees. These daily totals were added to create
a weekly profile and multiplied by 52 to create a total of 38,844 Gallons per
year.
Our continuous flow total was calculated by providing a diversity factor to show
no more than 70% of fixtures running at one. This comes out to a continuous flow
of 38.5 GPM
