Dear Ted:
Mr. Floyd Sack of Empire Development Co. has given me a copy
of your letter of June 2nd and asked me to respond to it.
In looking at the master plan of Golden Meadows Business
Park, we do not understand the objections which have been raised
to the chainlink fence. This property is located in an
industrial park area and is separated from residential uses by
extensive landscaping, street rights -of -way and intervening
business uses. The fence will be located in the northeast corner
of the site, well removed from any residences and will not n
be visible, let alone adjacent to, any residences.
As you know, the Site Plan for the above -referenced
development allows a six foot chainlink fence. As you
acknowledge in your letter, the City always recognized that: the
GSA specification required chainlink fencing and bids for the
project had to incorporate that requirement.
Those facts notwithstanding, Mr. Sack made an effort to
accommodate your request, but GSA will not agree to that change.
GSA's lease of the building specifically provides that the
wareyard will be enclosed by a six foot high chain link fence
and it remains their belief that security and protection of the
building and uses within requires the type of fence shown and
approved in the filed documents.
