Reason for Requesting Inspection:
1) Smells like mold in my bathroom. Water dripping on ceiling from above unit. Leaking pipes possibly.
Property manager was aware of water issue before I moved in and didn't fix it. In fact, there was
huge crack in the ceiling where water was actually coming through into my bath tub. After several
weeks after moving in, they fixed it. The plumber that came into my unit admitted that the entire
ceiling needs to be removed so they can sanitize and eliminate the mold issue, yet nothing was done.
They were notified several times by me of the water still dripping on the ceiling but have done
nothing. Even my upstairs neighbor reports a 'musty'/'nasty' smell. I believe we've both been
exposed to mold.
2) My sliding door hasn't locked the entire time I've been here. I've had to use a piece of wood to
secure my door. The locking mechanism that was installed on the door wasn't even the right one and
it was installed upside down. Because my door didn't lock, I believe I've paid a ton more on my
heating and electric bill because of the drafts in the winter. They've been notified several times and
have done nothing. Also my screen door barely works.
3) My carpet is wet on the inside near the Sliding door, I believe water is coming in from outside. I
always noticed a nasty smell when I come into my place, this would explain it. I also believe there
may be mold underneath the carpet. This has probably been an issue before I even moved in. Again,
they've been notified several times but have done NOTHING.
4) The Laundry Room door (which is right next to my unit) has a spring mechanism on it. I constantly
have to listen to this door being slammed, and I want to verify that this door is also up to code. It is
opposite from my front door.
5) There was no fire extinguisher in my unit when it was rented to me. I notified the property manager
of this, but he did nothing. Being that I have a wood burning fireplace in here, that was very
surprising. I had to go buy one myself.
6) There are baseboards missing in certain places in the bathroom.
7) When this place was rented to me there was about a %" gap between the bathroom vanity and the
wall. I caulked it myself. My neighbor upstairs has even reported a decent size hole in his ceiling.
8) They don't pull weeds and they leave things like washers/dryers/mattresses/couches in front of the
dumpsters for weeks and weeks.
9)
NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER LIVED IN SUCH A POORLY MAINTAINED PROPERTY. I LIVED IN ATRAILER
PARK THAT WAS BETTER MAINTAINED THAN THIS!!!!
Has the owner or manager been notified of these issues? YES, MANY TIMES
