On Monday, March 6, 2017, you contacted me to perform a framing inspection to review items
identified by the City of Fort Collins framing inspector as needing review and verification by our
office. This site visit was made to specifically inspect the headers, king and trimmer studs installed
at all wall openings as required by the construction documents dated May 21, 2014 and the
construction documents with revision #1 dated November 29, 2016. In addition to the wall
openings, the city inspector identified a shear wall strap detail that needed to be inspected and
verified.
While on site, I inspected the framing around all window and door openings specifically pertaining
to the headers, trimmer and king studs. All openings were found to have the appropriate number
of trimmer and king studs and properly sized headers and were in general accordance with the
structural construction documents.
In addition to inspecting the wall openings, I inspected the shearwall strap installed in the west
wall directly adjacent to the stair opening as required per detail 9/S2.2 at the main floor level. The
strap was found to be installed as required per detail 9/S2.2 and in general accordance with the
structural construction documents.
This concluded the extents of the framing inspection 1 performed at 417 Grant Street on Monday,
March 6, 2017.
