Dear Mr. Schneider,
The following roof framing revisions were made during construction at the above referenced
site.
• To match up with the existing framing, the gable entry roof was framed with 2x6 rafters
at 16" o.c. instead of the recommended 2x10's at 24" o.c. This is an adequate substitute
for the entry roof framing.
• The existing wall height was low enough at the front wall to allow the new porch rafters
to bear on the wall instead of needing a ledger. This direct bearing is adequate, and the
2x10 ledger is not needed.
