The permit applicant and property owner of record can elect one of the options below depending on whether or not the permit has expired. BEFORE THE PERMIT EXPIRES 1. Obtain a required City inspection, normally associated with this type of project, allowing the permit to remain in effect. 2. Obtain a one-time, no -fee, 180-day extension of a non -expired permit by providing Neighborhood and Building Services with a signed written letter requesting this extension. AFTER THE PERMIT EXPIRES 3. Within 1 year of the original issue date or date of the last inspection, pay a renewal fee of half the original building permit fee to reinstate the original expired permit. 4. After 1 year of the original issue date or date of the last inspection, obtain a new permit, by paying the full permit fee. FINAL INSPECTIONS REQUIRED Final Inspections -are required -for all Issued—pe�mlts— It is unlawful to occupy space or operate equipment, for which a permit was issued, without final approval by the City. It is the responsibility of the permit applicant and property owner for complying with this requirement.
