A recent rental housing inspection was performed and this shall serve to identify the items that
need repair and the timeline for compliance
827 East Laurel (lower level)
This unit is classified as uninhabitable due to a lack of a working bathroom and working kitchen
Most interior wall finishes have been removed This unit is to be vacated immediately and shall
not be re -occupied until all required building permits have been obtained, all work has been
inspected and the City has issued the final approval to occupy All open plumbing pipes shall be
closed with appropriate caps as soon as possible
825 East Laurel (upper unit)
This unit may remain occupied The following items will require the assistance of licensed trades
with inspection reports submitted to the City
1 You are required to have a licensed electrical contractor review all electrical work
performed by yourself or the tenant, making all corrects as identified and obtaining any
required permits
2 You are required to have a licensed mechanical contractor obtain a furnace permit for the
new furnace installed by the tenant The mechanical contractor shall air test all gas lines
installed by the tenant, piping must comply with current mechanical codes
3 You are required to obtain an engineer's report that verifies that the attic is capable of
supporting the newly installed furnace, making support corrections that may be
identified
These items are to be corrected and approved by the City within 30 days of the date of this
notice
The following items are considered as general maintenance and can be performed by you as the
property owner
1 Repair or replace window screens and windows for ventilation this summer
2 Replace roof at some future time and before the roof leaks

3 The property is in need of exterior weather protection, paint This should be done at some
future point in time and before the exterior starts to degrade
4 Install battery operated smoke detectors and a monoxide detector
5 Repair all exterior gutters, trim, doorjambs as needed
