RE: Observation of the Framing at 4625 Chippendale Drive,
City of Ft. Collins, Larimer County, Colorado
CDS Project No. 16-8025
Dear Bill,
On September 8, 2016, we visually observed the framing for the addition at the above
referenced residence. The framing and connections appear to be in general conformance with the
foundation plan by CDS Engineering Corporation, Project No. 16-8025, latest revision dated May 5,
2016. Two 16" Microllam were installed in place of the 2-11'/8" Microllam called out on our plans
for the beam at the back of the addition. The framing at the edge of the roof was done with a 16"
Microllam that was ripped down at the end to a 11'/8" height to match the rafters at the bearing wall.
The wall sheathing appeared to be installed according to the building code.

City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado

Dear Bill,
On July 7, 2016, we visually observed the steel reinforcement in the wall forms for the addition
to the existing residence under construction at the above referenced site. The reinforcement appears to
be in general conformance with the foundation plan by CDS Engineering Corporation, Project No. 16-
8025, dated May 5, 2016.

On July 1, 2016, we visually observed the footing forms for the residence under construction at
the above referenced site. The footing sizes, required reinforcement, and void material appear to be in
general conformance with the foundation plan by CDS Engineering Corporation, Project No. 16-8025,
dated May 5, 2016.

SUBJECT: Excavation Observation of 4625 Chippendale Drive,
City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado
REFERENCED SOIL REPORT: CDS Project No. 16-8025
SOILS EXPOSED IN EXCAVATION: Gravelly Sand
On June 29, 2016, we visually observed the excavation for the proposed residence at the above
referenced site. At the time of our observation the excavation was partially complete. The
excavation ranged in depth from one (1) to three (3) feet below original grade.
Based on our observation the soils appear consistent with the above referenced soils report which
re�Commends that the structure be supported by a continuous spread footing foundation bearing on
native, undisturbed soils.
It is further advised that backfill around the foundation should be compacted to reduce settlement
and maintain a positive slope away from the foundation walls. Downspouts and sill cocks should
discharge into splash blocks or long downspout extensions that extend beyond backfill limits.
