HomeMy WebLinkAboutTAFT PLACE - FDP180028 - SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS - ROUND 1 - TREE MANAGEMENT PLANNovember 1, 2018 Molly Roche Forestry Specialist City of Fort Collins Re: Taft Place — Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter Dear Molly, LOCKWOOD ARCHITECTS The following trees are proposed to be removed and mitigated at the Taft Place site located in the southwest corner of Taft Hill and CR 38 E (Harmony Rd). 1. Siberian Elm — 25" DBH; Mitigation Value 0; This tree was evaluated during an on -site meeting with Forestry. This tree is proposed for removal due to its invasive habits. This tree is of wild origin, in poor condition, and located on the property line along the existing fence line to the southeast of the property. 2. Siberian Elm — 25" DBH; Mitigation Value 4; This tree was evaluated during an on -site meeting with Forestry. This tree is proposed for removal due to its invasive habits. This tree is not believed to be of wild origin, is in fair condition, and located on the property line along the existing fence line to the south property. 3. Siberian Elm Suckers — Multi -Stem Less than I I" DBH; Mitigation Value 0; This tree was evaluated during an on -site meeting with Forestry. This group of volunteer suckers are proposed for removal due to this species invasive habits. This tree is of wild origin, in fair minus condition, and located where the proposed parking lot and stormwater for the development are proposed. Mitigation: Based on direction from Forestry, only the second Siberian Elm will require mitigation with a mitigation value of 3.5, rounded up to 4 total. Lockwood Architects has provided the 4 required trees to be mitigated, plus an additional 21 trees — 25 trees total. All of which, are non-invasive and will fit within the proposed site.
