Planning and Zoning and City Planning Staff, City of Fort Collins and My Westside Neighbors: I read with interest the notice on the subject and would like to make my opinion known, i do not know the Wuerkers, but feel I must stand behind them. I plan to attend the meeting but am on jury duty in Denver and may not be free to attend; hence this written comment.. The addition is in good taste and I feel that it fits into the westside neighborhood_ Three houses and Magnolia street stand between the Wtterker home and mine at 319 S. Grant_ I understand that a steep roof is planned for the rwmt portion and this is apparently one of the features in question. May I Point out that the turret is not two-story, but has a high ceiling above the main floor and is not open to the second floor area The recent Westside Architectural "standards" still ring in my can, and it seems that the phiolosophy of ultimate control is still alive. That program may have been well intended but totally insensitive to the heart of westside and controlled by a consultant who did not have the necessary knowledge of the area. I understand that since then there have been some arbitrary marimron roof pitch numbers discussed, and can only wonder what other poorly founded "standards" have surfaced. In my opinion the tronet does need at least a 24:12 roof slope to meet the eye as something other than an outsized bay window. I favor the approval of this request.
