We are under contract to purchase a portion of the Waterfield plot - the portion you may
know of as Senior Cottages of Fort Collins.
It has been and is our intention to develop, own and operate affordable housing for elderly
persons on the property. We have had numerous and fruitful meetings and phone
conve'rsationswith' city. officials: Additionally-:we,haverhad similar communications with
quite a number of persons and organizations who serve seniors in the Fort Collins area.
All expressed strong support for our proposed Senior Cottages of Fort Collins.
A misunderstanding has arisen over our role in the rezoning process now underway. We
had anticipated the owner would carry the proposal through approval of PUD, and we
would take over and show our stuff in detail through a site and building plans approval
process or similar proceeding. About two weeks ago, we became aware that Jim
McCory's comprehension was that we would be much more involved at this point in the
process.
When we make application for a project, we prepare and submit much more elaborate and
detailed plans than you have before you, and we spend plenty of time in advance being
certain our plans are acceptable to the entire community - staff, appointed and elected
officials; and the interested public. We look. forward, to, doing so in Fort Collins.
