The intersection must be shown with the proper turning templates to show that a vehicle of that size can make all possible movements allowed in the intersection. (Three copies of this shall be provided) A mountable curb shall be provided for the traffic circle median. Traffic circles are allowed only at an intersection of two or more streets. Sight distance easements for the traffic circles need to be provided in accordance with ASHTO standards for stopping sight distance. Signing and stripping of the traffic circles shall comply with the City of Fort Collins signing and stripping standards. All landscaping within traffic circles shall be limited to the following: 1. All plant material including hedges, and shrubs shall not exceed a height of 32 inches as measured from the flowline of the median gutter. 2. Tree planting shall be restricted to deciduous trees only. The lowest branch of any tree shall be no less than 60 inches (5 feet) in height from the flowline (of the closest portion) of the median gutter. 3. No fences or walls shall be allowe 9. 4. The highest point on the surface of the traffic median shall not be more than 30 inches from the highest point along the flowline for the gutter median. The City of Fort Collins Engineering and/or Transportation Departments reserve the right to limit the number of trees that can be provided or make a determination that no trees will be allowed within a traffic circle. Since traffic circles are not addressed in the current street standards a variance request is needed to include a traffic circle within a project. Since traffic circles are not a part of the Subdivision code they can only be requested and utilized in PUDs. ub e Si991i p
