The fire lane must be designed as a flat, hard, all-weather driving surface (asphalt or concrete) capable of supporting fire apparatus weights. The fire lane shall have appropriate maintenance agreements that are legally binding and enforceable. The fire lane shall maintain the required minimum width of 20 feet throughout the length of the fire lane.
