HomeMy WebLinkAboutGERRARD ROADWAY DEDICATION - 29-02 - CORRESPONDENCE - EASEMENTSDave Stringer - Gerrard Roadway Page 1 From: Ted Shepard To: Dave Stringer Date: 10/3/02 8:21AM Subject: Gerrard Roadway Dave, we received a "re -submittal" from Nathan Gerrard which I placed on your chair. In his first paragraph under "Engineering," he seems confused as to what we are doing. Before I call him back, I just wanted to check in with you. It is my understanding that: 1. This is to be a public drive, fully dedicated for both the street and the necessary utility easements on both sides, based on our street standards for the Urban Estate zone. 2. It is not a "driveway." 3. Now, to the extent that it is improved, my recollection of the Staff discussion is that we would allow something less than full construction and that the City would not accept the improvement so as to not be responsible for a sub -standard street. But, in order to keep the neighboring property owner, who brought the zoning complaint, from further disturbance, don't you think there should be some amount of paving? Otherwise, the resut would be that trucks keep traveling down a gravel drive that happens to be dedicated (with easements) to the City. That way, when they (or some future developer) has to rip it up later to install water and sewer, it won't be as costly. Let me know if I remember things correctly. Ted.
