Our Engineering and Transportation Planning Departments agree not to require any sidewalk widening along Thunderbird, subject to following: 1. For the Eckerd frontage along Thunderbird (the segment of existing walk east of the Moot House property line), there would still have to be sidewalk improvements. This could be 5' to 6' wide, attached, with 6" curb. 2. Constructing the above widening would mean some serious pruning or removal of a large spreading evergreen shrub(s). 3. There is an existing aspen tree next to the sidewalk in a cobble mulch bed. This mulch bed should be reduced in size so that the sidewalk could be widened at no loss of landscaping. The tree could be protected by a smaller bed and the walk could then go around both sides of the tree, sort of like our downtown with trees in grates. (I have a picture on hard copy but not digital so I can't attach it.) 4. Please provide a north -south walkway beginning at Thunderbird and traversing the parking lot across the three landscape island to connect to the walk on the south side of the store. Bob, I've got a picture of the shrubs that need to be pruned and a sketch of the walk. I can mail hard copy, or have you stop by for a look. Once you see these, I think you'll agree that its doable without major work. Give me a call or respond e-mail. Thanks, Ted. >>> "Bob McDonaugh" <bmcdonaugh@huntdouglas.com> 09/30/03 02:46PM >>> Ted; Greetings!
