I live at 405 North Grant Ave, and would like my comments on the Wood Street Lofts
project entered into the record.
I object to the current design of the proposed "Wood Street Lofts" because the current
design of the three proposed buildings do not fit in with the character of the
neighborhood. As we all know, the buildings in the adjacent lots are small one story
structures and all of the existing two story buildings in the neighborhoods fit in with the
architectural landscape and do not even start to dwarf other homes as the current planning
for these three new structures.
The plan, as proposed, will change the character of the neighborhood. There are no three
story structures currently in my neighborhood, and a trend in this direction will change
the character of the neighborhood that I, and most of my neighbors, appreciate about this
historical part of the City. It is up to us, as current neighbors to insure the historical
integrity of the city, and to make sure that we continue to live in the type of neighborhood
that we all bought into. This plan is not a minor and inconsequential to the existing
architecture.
I urge you to consider perspective this in the proposal and review process.
