Section 2. In the opinion of the City Council
an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health,
peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon
its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter.
Introduced, read at length, and adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular
meeting held this 2nd day of December, A. D. 1948.

ORDINANCE NO. 13 , 1948
BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE VACATING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 4
IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, ACCORDING TO PLAT FILED
JANUARY 18, 1873.
WHEREAS, The plat of Block 4 in the City of Fort
Collins filed on January 18, 1873, shows an alley running north
and south, which is more particularly described by metes and
bounds as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 3
in Block 4 in the City of Fort Collins; thence
South 269.85 feet; thence South 83' 37' East
12.80 feet; thence North 41° 10' East 10.94
feet; thence North 263.27 feet; thence West
20.00 feet to the point of beginning;
AND WHEREAS, Said alley has never been opened to
the public and has never been used as an alley and for many
years last past has been abandoned and has been closed to
public travel; and
WHEREAS, The owners of the lots abutting on said
alley have petitioned the City Council to cause the same to
be vacated; and
WHEREAS, The City Council is of the opinion that it
will be to the best interests of the City to vacate said alley;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. That the alley in Block 4 in the City of
Fort Collins, according to plat filed January 18, 1873, and
more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 3
in Block 4 in the City of Fort Collins; thence
South 269.85 feet; thence South 83037' East 12.80
feet; thence North 41010' East 10.94 feet; thence
North 263.27 feet; thence West 20.00 feet to the
point of beginning;
be and the same is hereby vacated, abolished and abandoned.
