MATERIAL OR THE STORAGE AND DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIAL SUCH AS PAINTS, OILS, SOLVENTS,
45PHAULT, CONCRETE, MOTOR OIL, OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL HARMFULL TO THE LIFE OF A TREE WITIN
THE DRIP LINE OF ANY PROTECTED TREE OR GROUP OF TREES,

11. NO DAMAGING ATTACHMENT, WIRES, 51GN5, OR PERMITS MAY BE FASTENED TO ANY PROTECTED TREE.
4. A CONSTRUCTION FENCE SHALL BE ERECTED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION ACTIVITY. THE 12
FENCE SHALL LEAVE SUFFICIENT ROOM FOR PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC TO MOVE SAFELY AROUND THE CONSTRCTION
ZONE. IN ADDITION, CONSTRUCTION SIGNAGE SHALL BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION
ACTIVITY. PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO AFFECTED BUSINESSES MUST BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE PROJECT
DURATION. THE FENCE AND SIGNING SHALL BE MAINTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL THE CONSTRUCTON
IS COMPLETE.
5. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING EXISTING STREET IMPROVEMENTS
AND PRIVATE PROPERTY FROM BEING DESTROYED, DAMAGED, OR DISTURBED DURING DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION. FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION THE CITY CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR WILL
EXAMINE EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR DAMAGE. DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND THE CONTRACTORS 13-
OPERATION WILL BE REPAIRED AND PAID FOR BY THE CONTRACTOR.
6. THE LIMIT OF WORK LINE AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS DESIGNATES THE MAXIMUM EXTENT OF DISTURBANCE
FOR MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT OF ANY OF THE VARIOUS BID ITEMS. DISTURBANCE BEYOND THESE
LIMITS MAY RESULT IN COSTLY REPAIRS TO EXISTING BUILDINGS, WALKS, AS WELL AS TREE REPLACEMENT,
ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE REPAIRED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS.
1. ITEMS ON THE DEMOLITION PLANS WHICH ARE LABELED "TO REMAIN' SHALL BE PROTECTED DURING
DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. IN THE EVENT THAT AN ITEM EXISTS ON THE SITE WHICH IS
NOT SHOWN ON THE PLANS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR SPECIFIC
DIRECTION. UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT DIRECTION IS RECEIVED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME THAT THE ITEM
15 TO BE PROTECTED AND TO REMAIN. IF AN ITEM IS DAMAGED THAT IS INDICATED TO REMAIN, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPARING THE DAMAGE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.
8. AVOID DISTURBANCE TO TREE ROOTS DURING DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. WITHIN THE DRIP LINE
OF ANY PROTECTED EXISTING TREE, THERE SHALL BE NO CUT OR FILL OVER A FOUR INCH (4'') DEPTH UNLESS
THE CITY FORESTER HAS EVALUATED AND APPROVED THE DISTURBANCE.

ACCOMPLISHING THE CONSTRUCTION OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT. THE CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE SHALL,
IN PARTICULAR, ADDRESS THE REQUIREMENT NOT TO DISTURB EXISTING BUILDINGS AND SHALL
INCORPORATE COORDINATION AND CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES RELATED TO UTILITIES. THE COMPLETE
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE SHALL BE SUBJECT TO REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS

18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A SAFE WORK AREA AND PROTECT AREA RESIDENTS, MOTORISTS,
BICYCLISTS, PEDESTRIANS, AND CHILDREN FROM WORK AREA HAZARDS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE
WORK AREA SAFETY CONTROL DEVICES, SUCH AS BARRICADES AND SAFETY FENCE AROUND ALL
EXCAVATIONS AND DROP-OFFS. WORK AREA SAFETY CONTROL DEVICES WILL NOT BE PAID FOR SEPARATELY.
COST FOR THIS EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE UNIT COSTS FOR THE WORK ITEMS WHICH WILL
REQUIRE WORK AREA SAFETY CONTROL DEVICES, OR IN THE BID ITEM: TRAFFIC CONTROL, LUMP SUM.
9. STREETS ADJACENT TO THE CONSTRUCTION AREA SHALL BE CLEANED OF DEBRIS GENERATED BY DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION THE PROJECT. DEBRIS SHALL BE CLEANED AT THE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY, OR WHEN DEEMED NECESSARY
BY THE OWNER FOR THE SAFETY OF TRAFFIC AND/OR PEDESTRIANS, IN NO CASE SHALL THE STREET BE
LEFT UNCLEANED AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE DAY'S WORK. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S
RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS TO SATISFACTORILY CLEAN THE
ROADWAY, THE COST FOR STREET CLEANING SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE APPROPRIATE UNIT COSTS. THE CITY'S
STREET DEPARTMENT WILL SWEEP THE STREET AT AN HOURLY RATE OF $70.00. THE MINIMUM 15 TWO HOURS ($140.00).
THE CONTRACTOR MUST SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY STREET DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO REQUESTING STREET SWEEPING.
IF THE STREETS ARE NOT CLEANED BY THE CONTRACTOR AFTER 24 HOUR NOTICE FROM THE CITY'5 PROJECT
REPRESENTATIVE, THE CITY'S PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE WILL HAVE THE STREETS DEPARTMENT SWEEP THE STREETS
AT A COST OF $70.00 PER HOUR. THE MINIMUM CHARGE IS FOUR (4) HOURS ($280.00). THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE BACK
CHARGED FOR THE EXPENSES INCURRED.
20. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DUST CONTROL, AND PROVIDING THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
TO SATISFACTORILY CONTROL DUST AT ALL TIMES. WATER SHALL BE USED AS THE DUST PALLIATIVE WHERE REQUIRED.
THE COST FOR DUST CONTROL SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE APPROPRIA-E UNIT COSTS.
21. CONCRETE WALL PANELS HAVE EXPOSED REBAR BETWEEN PANELS, AFTER WALL PANELS ARE REMOVED, THE REBAR
AT THE EXPOSED END OF THE WALL SHALL BE GROUND FLUSH WITH ADJACENT SURFACES LEAVING NO SHARP EDGES
OR BURRS.
22, TRASH RECEPTACLES HAVE BEEN LOCATED AT EACH OF THE MAIN CORNERS OF COLLEGE AVENUE. THESE ITEMS ARE TO BE
STORED AND PROTECTED OFF SITE FOR LATER RE -INSTALLATION, AT THE SAME LOCATION.
23. THE CITY REPRESENTATIVES SHALL APPROVE THE FINAL LOCATION OF THE 51TE FURNISHINGS (TRASH RECEPTACLES, BIKE
