GENERAL NOTES:
PLAN QUANTITIES OF SURFACING MATERIALS ARE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING UNIT
WEIGHTS AND RATES OF APPLCATIONS:
HOT BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT @ 110 LBS/SQ.YD./INCH OF THICKNESS
EMULSIFIED ASPHALT (SLOW SETTING) FOR TACK @ 0.10 GAL/SQ.YD. (DILUTED)
FOR QUANTITIES, DILUTED EMULSIFIED ASPHALT FOR TACK COAT WAS ESTIMATED AT
1 PART EMULSIFIED ASPHALT AND I PART WATER.
RATES OF APPLICATION SHALL BE AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER AT THE TIME OF
APPLICATION. RATES SHOWN ABOVE ARE APPROXIMATE AND ARE SUBJECT TO ADJUST-
MENT ON CONSTRUCTION.
THE FOLLOWING SHALL BE FURNISHED WITH EACH BITUMINOUS PAVER:
1. A SKI TYPE DEVICE AT LEAST 30 FEET IN LENGTH.
2. A SHORT SKI OR SHOE
ANY LAYER OF BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT THAT IS TO HAVE A SUCCEEDING LAYER PLACED
THEREON SHALL BE COMPLETED FULL WIDTH BEFORE A SUCCEEDING LAYER IS PLACED.
WATER SHALL BE USED AS A DUST PALLIATIVE AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. THE
COST SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE WORK. FOR INFORMATION ONLY: 6 MGALS.
TYPE OF COMPACTION FOR EMBANKMENT SHALL BE AASHTO T99. DEPTH OF MOISTURE -
DENSITY CONTROL FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
FULL DEPTH OF ALL EMBANKMENTS.
BASES OF CUTS AND FILLS - 6 INCHES.
EXCAVATION REQUIRED FOR COMPACTION OF BASES OF CUTS AND FILLS WILL BE
CONSIDERED AS SUBSIDIARY TO THAT OPERATION AND WILL NOT BE PAID FOR
SEPARATELY, BUT SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE WORK.
ANY REMOVED PAVEMENT. SIDEWALKS, CURB AND GUTTER, ETC., SHALL BECOME THE
PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.
ANY SHRUBBERY, PLANTS, SIDEWALKS OR APPURTENANCES NOT DESIGNATED BY THE
ENGINEER FOR REMOVAL SHALL BE CAREFULLY PROTECTED AND AVOIDED. ANY SUCH
PROPERTY DAMAGED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS SHALL BE REPLACED 'cY THE
CONTRACTOR AT HIS OWN EXPENSE.
ALL DIMENSIONS AND RADII ARE SHOWN FROM THE FLOWLINE OF THE CURB AND GUTTER
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
UTILITIES AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE PLOTTED FROM THE BEST AVAILABLE INFOR-
NATION. THE CONTRACTOR'S ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO PARAGRAPH 107.18 OF THE
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS CONCERNING UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL FOR
UTILITY LOCATIONS PRIOR TO ANY DIGGINGS.
FINAL SIGNING AND STRIPING WILL BE DONE BY THE CITY OF FT. COLLINS AT NO COST
TO THE PROJECT AND ACCORDING TO MUTCD.
FINAL LANDSCAPING IS NOT A PART OF THIS WORK AND WILL BE DONE UNDER A SEPARATE
CONTRACT FOLLOWING THE COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT.
THE MINIMA THICKNESS OF TOPSOIL (HAUL) SHALL BE 3" FOR THE ROADWAY TYPICAL
SECTION AND 18" FOR THE CHANNEL SECTION IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 155 CU.YDS. WILL
BE REQUIRED FOR THE ROADWAY AND -300 CU.YDS. FOR THE CHANNEL (CONTRACTOR'S SOURCE).
ALL TREES TO BE REMOVED TO FACILITATE CONSTRUCTION MAST BE APPROVED BY THE
ENGINEER AND WILL BE PAID FOR UNDER ITEM 201 CLEARING AND GRUBBING.
CITY OF FORT COLLINS WILL REMOVE EXISTING SIGNING AND DELINEATORS, AT NO COST TO THE PP07ECT.
FLAGGING IS NOT REQUIRED, BUT WILL BE USED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S DISCRETION AT NO
COST TO THE PROJECT.
