TO: Rita Davis, Traffic Department
FROM: James K. Kline, Project Manager
DATE: May 27, 1992
SUBJECT: Proposed project (4 plex, 1 bedroom units),
1216 Maple Street.
As requested from staff comments following the conceptual
review of this project.
I talked with Matthew J. Delich, P.E., traffic engineering
consultant about. the impact of this project on the surrounding
neighborhood. His feelings on it was that it was not of a
significant size to really impact the area at all. He told me
the national average were 5 - 6 trips per day/ 10 at maximum. I
imagine these trips would probably take place in the morning and
evening hours.

Dear Glen:
This letter is intended to serve as certification of completion of stormwater improvements t 1216 Maple Street by
the Fort Collins Housing Authority.
The Housing Authority placed a building on this site and made improvements to the surrounding area to collect,
detain, and release stormwater. We have visited the site during and after construction on a number of occasions.
1 have copied two previous letters written to the Housing Authority notifying them of the work necessary to
complete their improvements.
The first letter (dated May 13, 1993) was written after the first site visit. The letter dated September 29, 1993 was
written after the third visit. After further inspection on November 9, 1993, we are ready to certify the completion
of all stormwater improvements as described by our previously approved plan (approved by your department). As
discussed in our phone conversation on November 11, 1993, the grading along the east side of the incoming drive
was of some concern to us. Our concern was about the small area of the asphalt drive which was not graded to
the exact standards as described by our construction drawings. In reviewing the existing conditions for the site prior
to the construction drawings, it is evident some runoff flowed to the east emptying onto the adjacent property. The
construction of the incoming asphalt drive actually intercepted a large portion of this runoff and improved the
situation. After your site visit and our subsequent conversation on November 12, 1993, it is agreed that the drive
(as constructed) will not require any further attention.
Therefore, at this time, we are ready to certify construction of the improvements in accordance with our
c na traction drawings and the City of Fort Collins Sto< water Utility criteria.
Should you have any questions regarding this project, do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely yours,
Rick R. Pickard, P.E
