1.The proposed location conflicts with a mature
Variagated Dogwood hedge. At least two, perhaps three,
of these Dogwoods will be impacted. These Dogwoods
were planted in conjunction with the playland addition
approved in 1995 specifically to soften the appearance
of the playland structure. Need to discuss landscape
mitigation ideas with applicant.
2. Awning must be Ivory (#2416).
3. Awning must be sufficiently opaque so it does not
become an "illuminated awning' which is prohibited.
4. Sidewalk must not be blocked.
5. Advertising on kiosk is restricted. Awning is allowed
to advertise "dvd rental" as shown in the attached
pictures, and subject to Sign Code allowance. On the
interior of the kiosk, information on how to operate the
vending machine is allowed, also as indicated on the
attached pictures, and subject to Sign Code allowance.
But, the illuminated signage on the iron of the vending
machine approximates 24 square feet of illuminated
signage that violates Section 3.5.1(J)(6). This signage
must be modified so it contains operational directions
only. The balance of the front of the kiosk must be
Ivory to match awning color and non -illuminated.
6. The plans do not include the material or color of the
rear of the kiosk, only that it is six feet in diameter. The
plans need to specify materials and color. It should be
Ivory to match the awning or a color that closely
matches the predominant building material, not an
accent color, of the north elevation.
