I explained that among the advantages to leaving the approach design as is are the potential for its use as a two-way approach in the future, Fire access, and the possible location of the drop box on the south side of the driveway with passage around a vehicle parked at the box to the north. I asked Mark for some guidance for the design of the west flowline of Mason on the north side of Maple, noting that the constraints of lane widths from railroad easements and existing curb west of the track does not exist to the north of Maple. I pointed out that our currently proposed Mason street west flowline on the south side of Maple, projected across Maple, is less than three feet (3') to the west of the existing flowline on the north side of Maple, and that the minimum transition length for this street is such that transition criteria are more than adequately met through the intersection. He agreed that we do not need to show any proposed modifications to the existing curb and gutter on Mason north of Maple. Mark McCallum - Re. I did not agree entirely to not having to provide any modification to the existing curb and gutter on Mason north of Maple. What I agreed with was Michael's explanation. Mind you, I had no revised plans to base a decision on. With that in mind, I think the transition through the intersection will work, but the utility plans and striping plan will provide the proof, so until I see revisions the issue in my mind is an open item.
