Gentlemen:
Per your request, we have reviewed the foundation details for the referenced project. It is our
opinion that an 8" CMU foundation wall is an acceptable alternate to the concrete foundation
wall for the construction of the new crawl space at the rear of the house. It is recommended
that #4 dowels be placed at 32" on center full height of the wall. Solid fill all CMU cells and
provide a bond beam with 244 continuous reinforcement at the top of the wall.
