DEVELOPMENT SERVICES - BUILDING PERMITS & INSPECTIONS
February 18, 1988
To Whom it flay Concern:
On February 18, 1988, at approximately 9:15 a.m. I inspected two (2)
warm morning heaters located at 323 Parker Street in the City of Fort
Collins.
The first heater in the lower level, which could be a family or living
room, was okay with one exception. The thimble into the chimney was
loose and should be fastened so it will not pull away and let gases out
into the room. The pipe is a single wall, black 3" pipe and is at least
6" from the wall.
The second heater, located on the upper or main level, is in the utility
room , being used to keep water pipes from freezing. It appears to be a
3" pipe, possibly wrapped with what I think could be asbestos. This is
not acceptable and should be removed. Also, the single wall pipe is too
close to combustibles with no thimble at the ceiling line. Replacing this
pipe to double wall would make this unit legal.
Sincerely,
Jack Grove
Building Inspector
