It was nice seeing you again last week. Per our discussion, please find below a listing of my specific properties
which we want to look at as it relates to the new UDU program:

After quickly reviewing these, I don't think that I have any units which will be an issue, but would like your input.
Notes:
1. The #1 property above, 616 E. Laurel is an over/under duplex, and per the attached email we exchanged on
5/23/2005, you stated "The City's file for that address has a document from 1984 that is notifying the property
manager that items need to be corrected in order to be in compliance with the rental code. This document alone is
enough to state that the City was aware of the duplex use." -- Ipresume all I need now is to get the formal
building permit from you, correct?
2. Properties #2 & #3 above are the same legal address, but are 2 separate houses on the same lot. The first one
listed (#2 above) is presumably the "back lot/alley house" (single family) that Chris Ray built in N 1997, so
presumably you already have a building permit on file for that? The next (#3 above) is the original front house
which is already listed as "Duplex - Side by Side" (which it is), so it sounds like that one is already OK too, correct?
3. The #4 property above, 618 S. Whitcomb, is also an over/under duplex, and per the attached email we
exchanged back in 2004, it looks like this was brought into compliance at this time, and that it had been rented as
a duplex for may years. I presume I just need to get a building permit from on on this one as well, correct?
Thanks again for all of your help with this. I don't think any of my affected units are going to be a problem for the
new UDU, but welcome your input or feedback. Please let me know what I need to do in order to obtain the
necessary building permits, or other documents -- I can either pick them up at your office, or you are welcome to
mail them if that is any easier on your end. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
