Stephen Mack For Commitment to Historic Preservation The W. J. Tilton House & Garage 409-411 Whedbee Street When Steve proposed rehabilitation of the W. J. Tilton House and Garage to the Landmark Preservation Commission, it was "one step from the wrecker's ball." Trees growing through the foundation and roof, absence of subflooring, and deteriorated siding were just a few of the challenges Steve faced with this project. But with unwavering determination and an appreciation for Old Town, he devised a plan to save the imperiled house and garage. The rehabilitation of his 1898 Whedbee Street property, knows as the first Common Wall Town Home in Fort Collins, was Steve's first foray into historic preservation. Based upon the success of this project, we certainly hope it is not his last.
