Please be advised this letter contains important information to share with your
contractor.
1. 'it is acknowledged that the current remodel will include the following:
a) The Resource room. will be remodeled to provide access from the
reception area to a restroom to be used as a sick room to be located
within the Resource room. The sick room, will be equipped with a toilet
and hand -washing sink provided.-
b) The restroom Will be large enough for a cot for ill or injured children to
be separated from other children
ildren and common areas `until they can be
picked up by parent/guardian.
2,. The hand washing sink must be supplied with hot and told. running water
under pressure supplied 'through a mixing •valve, dispensed single use hand
towels, And soap.
3. The plans include one additional' hand washing sink, which will not
significantly change hot water demand for the building. The existing hot Walter
systern, is approved or an instantaneous hot water heater can be provided.

12. Cot'or mat provided for care of sick children must be constructed of a
smooth, durable, and easilycleanable' design (i.e., vinyl surfaces approved, cloth
not approved) or Vinyl mattress cover must be provided. Provide a .washable
sheet and blanket:
13. Provide single use disposable gloves, sanitizes and disinfectant'in this room
for staff to .use to care for sick children.
14. Construction activity must be conducted in a manner that does not create a
health hazard, preferably when children are .not present. Construction materials
and tools must be removed when children are present to help prevent. injury to
children while building is under construction:
The plans are approved at this time. Be advised approval of plans does not
constitute acceptance of the completed structures. Inspections of the premises
must be conducted by the department for approval of the remodeled structures
prior to changes in the child care operation.. I. will be out of the office September
1=9, 2011..Please contact. me for a construction inspection when the project is
nearly completed.,
