RE: PVHS Primary Care, misc. coordination items
Whitney Churchill
The Neenan Company
2620 E Prospect Rd, Suite 100
Fort Collins, Colorado 80525
Dear Whitney,
lI
This letter is to confirm in writing various coordination items that were discussed during a site
visit today. These items are as follows:
1.) Vertical grade beam penetrations are acceptable and do not need any additional
reinforcing if the penetration is 1 inch in diameter or less. Continuous penetrations in
the longitudinal direction of the grade beams (electrical conduits) are acceptable only
in the center third of both depth and width of the grade beam. Thus the maximum
width of the conduit is 4" (single or bundled).
2.) The pilaster located at gridline D and west of gridline 2 was extended about 9 inches
to the inside of the building to fit the rebar. This adjustment is acceptable.
3.) At the ends of interior grade beams along gridlines C and E, Z-shaped rebar was used
on one face of the beam to continue reinforcement to the offset exterior grade beam
portion. Rebar on the opposite face was draped. Both are acceptable.
4.) Staples may be used instead of nails to attach shear wall sheathing to the wall framing.
The staples shall have the same thickness as the nails specified in the shear wall
schedule, and shall be spaced as specified in the schedule. The minimum crown width
of the staples shall be 7/16 inch.
Please contact me if you have further questions regarding these issues.
