Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at Lot 79, Coventry (4719 Crest Road), a subdivision
of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was performed on June
18, 1997.
Exposed soils measure from original grade consist of eight (8) feet
of sandy clay over a silty claystone bedrock which extends to the
depth drilled.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate
length as specified on KLP's foundation plan, Job No. 5043. No
water was encountered during drilling. Therefore, we recommend
concrete be placed immediately after drilling of the caissons.
Casing was not required.
