Structural Engineers 'P03 0 34 (02— & Zv%z` T It is our understanding the beam pocket at the south end of the basement addition was eliminated. The bottom of the (2) 1-3/4" x 9-1/2" LVL beam was notched to fit on the foundation. It is our opinion the notched beam is not adequate to support the design loads. In order to restore the integrity of the beam, we recommend a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" x'/4" steel angle clip 7" wide should be centered beneath the beam and attached to the face of the concrete wall with (2) 1/2" diameter x 4" expansion anchors placed 2" each side of center from the centerline of the angle. It is our understanding a 4' x 4' concrete porch 6" thick is to be placed for the exterior door at the stairs opening to be supported by the foundation walls. Holes should be drilled into the top of the existing foundation a minimum of 4" deep at 12" on center. Minimum 24" #4 rebar should be epoxied into the holes and bent into the slab area. The bars should be tied to #4 rebar at 12" each way extending the full length and width of the 6" slab. If I can be of further assistance please contact me. Sincerely, Weeks & Associates, Inc.
