Howes - P.O. Box 503 Fort Collins, Colorado 80521-0503 (970) 484-0359 Fax: (970) 484-0454 On March 27, 2002, a representative from Terracon observed the foundation excavation for the referenced lot within the Warren Farms development as requested. The soil conditions exposed within the foundation areas consisted of sandy clay with gravel and/or silty clayey sand fill material. These soils are similar to those described in our Geotechnical Engineering Report prepared for the site and dated May 18, 2000 (see Project No. 20005081). Based on our observations, it is recommended the structure be supported by a spread footing foundation system designed in accordance with the recommendations set forth in the report. At the time of the observation, no bedrock or free groundwater was encountered within two feet of the crawl -space foundation level. However, based on recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical Engineering Report, it is our opinion a dewatering system should be placed around the lower level of the structure. The drainage system should be designed and constructed in accordance with the recommendations set forth in the report.
