Gentlemen:
On August 20 and 23, 2001, Weeks & Associates observed the excavation at the referenced
site. Observations indicate the soils to be red sandy lean clay at the upper foundation level and
red clayey sand with gravel at the lower foundation level. These soils are similar to those
described in the Subsurface Exploration Report for the site by Earth Engineering Consultants,
Inc. dated June 25, 1997 (see Project No. 1972027).
Based on site observations and a review of the report, it is our opinion the spread footing
foundation system as recommended in the report and detailed on the foundation plan by Weeks
& Associates, Inc., Project No. 20147, is applicable for the site soil conditions.
