Empire Laboratories, Inc. observed the caisson construction at the
above -referenced project on June 3, 1994.
The purposes of the observation were to (1) identify the .bedrock
stratum, (2) assure proper penetration is obtained into the sound
bedrock stratum, (3) ascertain that the drill holes are thoroughly
cleaned and free of water prior to placement of any foundation
concrete and (4) check drill holes to assure that they are plumb
and of the proper diameter. Based upon our observations, it is our
opinion the caissons observed were drilled in accordance with the
plans and specifications prepared for the project.
