Building Code Violation Notice

Reference: 4512 Goshawk Dr.
Recently, an inspector with this office posted a Stop Work Order on your address for
building alteration work, which was being performed without City approval or permits.
As of today we have not received an application for permit.
Therefore, this letter shall serve as notice, that the above referenced address is in
violation of the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBQ Section 106.1 as adopted by the
City. Pursuant to UBC Section 103, I declare that this address is in violation of the Code
for failure to obtain required permits. I hereby order you to submit all appropriate plans
for review, pay associated permit fees, including the Investigation Fee equal to the
building permit fee as allowed in UBC Section 107.5, and obtain the building permit
within 10 days of receipt of this letter.
Upon obtaining your building permit, you are required to schedule an inspection with this
office prior to commencing with any further work. Furthermore, occupancy of any
portion of the remodeled area, prior to City approval, violates UBC Section 109.1. These
listed violations can lead to the revocation of the "Certificate of Occupancy" for this
property and the disconnection of all utilities.
Failure to comply with this lawful order within the time frame specified will result in a
court summons, which subjects you to a maximum fine of $1000.00 per day of violation.
Please contact me upon receipt of this letter, that we may avoid any unnecessary legal
actions.
