At the request of Mr. Pat Clark, we herewith enclose our
calculations for the bedroom floor cantilevers of the subject
residential model. The calculations are based on a 40 psf floor
live load and a 30 psf roof snow load. Allowable stresses *ised
are for Douglas Fir -Larch #2 and better framing lumber.
The cantilever framing must support the roof bearing walls for
Elevations "A-l" and "C" (trusses front to rear). As indicated
in the calculations, 2 x 10 joists at 24" oc with 1 2 x 10 x
6' - 0" stiffener ("scab") nailed alongside every other joist
is structurally adequate.
